FINAL UPDATE:

These are the final photos from Graeme’s epic ride in the Milano Taranto Rally 2023.

He had a great time being involved with this amazing, famous rally. He met new people and made many new friends.

These photos are from a package he bought, taken by the rally photographers. They show the stunning countryside and Graeme as he motored along.

It was a wonderful experience.

Cheerful, adventurous, demanding, and beautiful... this and so much more was the Milan-Taranto 2023, since 1987, every year in July, vintage motorcycles meet for the historical re-enactment of this legendary motorcycle race. This is the short version touching on the fun.

There are of course food photos, with the people who served and cooked it, the riders on the way reaching the finish line and all culminating in awards being presented. All participants were given posters.

Our Graeme picked up two awards. . He received a framed poster for the longest distance travelled to attend this event and a trophy for “Assaggiatore” (taster).

The Milano Taranto Rally

Our fearless leader, Graeme Studdert, will be taking his place in the following.

Milan Taranto, since 1987, every year in July, vintage motorcycles meet for the historical re-enactment of this legendary motorcycle race.

An incredible journey through history, culture, landscapes and gastronomy.

On Monday, July 3 at 9.30 the Milan-Taranto arrives in Maranello, whose last edition dates back to 1956: the first stage of the demonstration will pass through the city with a stop by the centauri in Piazza Libertà.

The caravan of vintage motorcycles - 160 in total - will arrive in the center of Maranello from Via Claudia, coming from Fiorano Modenese: the arrival of the first participants is expected exactly around 9.30. Motorbikes will stop in Piazza Libertà for the entire morning.

Crews from Germany, UK, USA and Australia are among the participants. Accredited at the start a quarantine of "glorious" motorcycles up to 175cc whose brands participated in the Milan-Taranto editions from 1950 to 1956; also present, novelties this year, two electric motorcycles, and twenty modern motorcycles, the taster team, (of which Graeme is part of), which styles the top ten restaurants along the course. The 36th edition of the historic reenactment of the motorcycle marathon takes place over six stages, touching seven regions; over 1.750 kilometers of the route that await the 160 centaurs registered, for an immersive experience in the beauty of the peninsula, history, culture and gastronomic traditions. The stages are Maranello, Pontedera, Assisi, Cassino, San Giovanni Rotondo and finally Taranto, where the final celebrations will take place.

This will be updated as Photos are sent to me.

We, the staff, are all excited to follow Graeme’s journey, so watch this space.
