It was named so because it was capable of 100 mph (160 km/h), so it was an obvious marketing idea to call the new bike the Tiger 110
This beautiful looking classic has been brought in for repairs.
Our challenge is to eliminate the oil leaks and fix the front forks, which has serious issues.

SERVICE & REPAIR- Harley Davidson 883.
This bike has been sitting in a shed for 10 years and it was brought to us to get it going.
We cleaned out the fuel tank, carby, fuel lines, fuel tap and hoses.
We also serviced the bike and changed out all the fluids, got the brakes working correctly and adjusted everything that can be adjusted.
We have test ridden the bike now and it is ready for a number plate.
The fuel tank has 25mm of black TAR in the bottom. It will take ages to clean this out.
The carby is worn out and need to be replaced. We have found a new aftermarket carby in the USA.
UPDATE:
The Carby has arrived from the USA and the threads are all metric, so nothing fits. We have made special screws and fixings for the air filter.
The fuel tank is now clean and we are waiting on a new fuel tap.
Once the tap arrives we shall get the fuel tank back on.
In the mean time we have completed the service and changed all the fluids.
The engine starts and runs sweetly now.

Some History
Soichiro Honda’s eponymous company was founded in 1948 and over the next decade established itself as one of the finest exponents of motorcycle manufacturing in Japan. The origins of the CL450 can be traced back to 1965 when Honda released the CB450, its first big twin featuring a powerful DPHC engine. The second generation CB450 from 1968 was joined by a scrambler version, using the same parallel twin but high chrome exhausts and different handlebars. Developing a very healthy 43 horsepower at 9650 rpm, the CL450’s motor endowed it with excellent performance for an off-road machine and many were modified for competition or as cafe’racers. Cosmetic changes were made to the CL450 almost every year, including different tank graphics and a redesigned muffler heat shield. The original K1 scrambler of 968 was available in silver, candy red and candy blue with “Honda 450”badges on the fuel tank, black upper forks and headlamps shell. The earlier fou-speed gearbox was replaced with a duel-purpose motorcycle and few survive in decent condition today. This Bike heralds the beginning of the end of the English motorbike industry.
This Motorcycle (below)
Rarely seen in Australia, this 1968 Honda is the five speed ‘K1’ version of the classic CL450 street scrambler, nicely presented and benefiting from extensive mechanical refurbishment. Previously titled in Marietta, Georgia, the Honda was imported in 2011, joining a collection of classic Japanese motorcycles. With only 4,959 miles at the time of purchase, the bike was described was being in excellent condition with many NOS parts, including a rare factory exhaust system and even has the original seat covering rarely found on these bikes. Refurbishment carried out since landing in Australia includes new points, coils and condenser, plus a new voltage regulator.
A carburetor kit was installed, along with fresh fork seals and rollers/springs for the electric starter sprag clutch, eliminating a common problem on CB and CL450’s. A fresh lithium battery, new spark plugs and oil change and tune-up were carried out. It now starts up and runs well.
