GENERAL INTEREST

This page features motorcycles that we have, are not necessarily for sale, but have an interesting story behind them.

Their journey is not over.

It is just a page to appreciate fine motorcycles. Enjoy.

This is how it looked when it arrived

Moto Guzzi Guzzino

This bike was purchased in Italy 10 years ago as a very old and tired motorcycle.

We imported the bike and began the restoration

All parts were stripped out and the engine cleaned and a new piston and rings fitted.

All parts were blasted back to bare metal and then painted in the original Moto Guzzi red colour.

This model was produced in Italy from 1948 till 1968 and held the world production record of 125,000 model made.  This record was only surpassed by the Honda 50cc step through in 1978.

This bike is 63cc and has 3 speeds on the hand gear change. The bike has full suspension and was the model that put Moto Guzzi on the world map.

More photos will be posted on completion

Moto Guzzi Superalce

This model was the last of a long line of 500cc overhead external valve engines that featured the external flywheel (the famous Bacon Slicer) models

Originally called the ‘Älce’ or Elk the model was specifically designed and built as a military motorcycle.   The passenger on these models had what looks like a set of handle bars, but in actual fact is a rest for a machine gun.

After many successful years of production the bike was upgraded with better suspension and dampening, better engine components and a 4 speed gearbox.

This new model was called the Super Alce.

The 1946 model was originally offered in Military grey and many has leather or canvas saddle bags.

This particular model was a special build for the Italian ‘Vigili Del Fuoco’  Fire Department.  Hence the red colour.

This motorcycle will be on display the the NSW Moto Guzzi Club annual rally.  The Ragged Fringe Rally which is held at Bretti Campground, 30 kilometers north of Gloucester NSW on the 18-19-20th March 2022.

Moto Guzzi Cardellino Tippo Lusso

I found this bike in a guys garage in Germany and it was in very poor condition.  I was able to get it packed and shipped to my shop at Gateshead.

The bike had been left out in the weather for years with the dip stick missing.  The gearbox was full of rust.   It turned out to be a major restoration which required the engine, gearbox and clutch to be fully restored.

The frame, swing arm, front forks, fuel tank, all the brackets and pivots were blasted and painted in Moto Guzzi red.

New tyres, rims and spokes were  sourced and the wheels rebuilt.  New carby was purchased and fitted and the little engine fired into life.

Still some small components to be finalised and fitted and then the bike may be offered for sale.
