1959 BMW R60

The BMW R60 is one of BMW’s most iconic models.

Originally made to have a Steib sidecar fitted, the bike has cast fittings attached to the frame to mount the side car.  This bike does not have a side car fitted.

This BMW motorcycle has not been started for 8 years and is showing lots of rust and oxidation and old parts that are worn out and need replacing.  The engine needs pistons, rings, valves, guides and many of the chrome parts need to be re-chromed.

The fuel tank, front and back guards and headlight bucket will be repaired and all but the tank will painted in high gloss black with original white hand painted double pin lines.

AS with all restoration we find many parts that need to be replaced as we progress through the restoration.   This is one of the challenges with restoration and it is impossible to put a final price on a restoration.

This project is expected to take around 12 – 16 weeks to complete.
